This policy of keeping the product only in tobacco stores has not only helped maintain consumer perception of our cigars as a premium product, but has, and continues to be, very much appreciated by our retailers for continuation of its exclusivity and elimination of untenable price-point competition from internet and mail-order discounters. Our commitment to maintain this position has, while limiting total sales, been instrumental in allowing us to survive in a market where even well-funded and distributed lines from the largest of our competitors have failed.
Of the hundreds, even thousands, of brands that entered the marketplace contemporaneously with our product, fewer than 30 have survived to reach the third year of the new millennium, and even fewer survived to this day. Those of us who have share some very basic business principles in common:
Create and provide great products. The mediocre need not apply.
Maintain strong contact with retailers. Keeping in touch is key.
Continually strive for consistency.
Never allow market forces to compromise quality.
It is through close adherence to these tenets the we have continued to offer our client base some of the best-conceived, best-constructed, and most consistent cigars in the industry. This level of commitment and attention to detail is evident in only the best companies and we proudly consider ourselves to be among the best.
